We are really very delighted to share with you that the Researcher Professional Development team won the Times Higher Education (THE) Award for Outstanding support for Early Career Researchers.
We always knew that Think Ahead was unique and it makes us really happy that it’s now recognised as the sector leader; both for the productive partnership model we operate (the theme of our entry), and the fact that the framework for the professional development of researchers is inclusive across all faculties and open to PGRs as well as research staff.
The productive partnership model is designed to ensure that a really broad range of experts within and external to the University have input into the direction and delivery of the framework. For us, it’s about being creative, and combining a richness of expertise, skills and resources to really get the best value for our early career researchers. See here for descriptions of all the partnerships and collaborations we cultivate.
As you’ll already realise, our most important partner is you, the early career researchers! Through PGR and ECR committee structures we consult, lobby, and shape our framework to keep on the leading edge of what you need. And this is where your feedback forms come in! Your comments and critical evaluation keep us on our toes to be the very best we can and that is why it’s so important – you are literally steering the Think Ahead bus! So, thanks to you all, three cheers for researcher development at Sheffield – hip hip…HOORAY!n – hip hip…HOORAY! – hip hip…HOORAY!
