Saturday 1st June saw the start of Researcher Wellbeing Month and the launch of our new wellbeing calendar. Much like a mindfulness or kindness calendar, each day we will be tweeting a simple thought or action of the day from @ResWellSheff (please follow us!) designed to boost your own sense of wellbeing and suggest opportunities for connecting to the people around you through 4 broad themes: Sharing & appreciation – Reflection – Connection – Self-care. You don’t have to be restricted to this month either. Anything that strikes a chord or makes you feel particularly good, you could embed into your regular routines! Today’s action is a lovely one and easy to achieve:
You can view the full calendar by visiting the Researcher Portal’s wellbeing events page. While you’re there, why not scroll down through our events listings. Wellbeing Week 2019 runs from Monday 17th June until Friday 21st June. There are a wide range of activities to try, all now open for booking, including researcher-led activities funded through Think Ahead and researcher network meetings. Whether you fancy having a go at mindfulness or yoga, learning a new creative pursuit such as mosaic or crochet, or just enjoying a board game or singing session, there is something to suit pretty much anyone.
Please join us at one or more of these sessions to relax, have fun, let your creative juices flow. And always remember… Take Breaks Make Breakthroughs #tbmb. Giving yourself some time out to rebalance the stresses and strains of research is so important.
